My Story

Hi, my name is Phyllis Sarkin-D’Addario . Thank you for viewing my website. The pictures on this site are only a small representation of my work. I took my first stained glass class about 34 years ago. I have taken classes from several different instructors over the years. It’s fascinating to chat with other instructors and artists and learn new techniques.

I practice the copper foil method of stained glass. This method involves hand cutting the glass, grinding the edges smooth, wrapping each piece in copper foil tape, then soldering the individual pieces together into the finished pieces you see here.

I love all of the varied colors and textures of the glass that are available. You can change the entire look of a piece by changing the color or texture of the glass used. I also incorporate beveled glass into many of my pieces. The prisms from them are
beautiful, bouncing on the walls when the sun is shining through them. My 3 dimensional stars are some of my best selling pieces. They make a wonderful gift for anyone.

I participate in about 10-12 fine arts and juried craft shows each year throughout New York &
Pennsylvania. I have met some wonderful customers at these shows. It’s nice to catch up with them and educate them about the art of stained glass.

I do custom orders for those interested. I also teach several classes in my studio.
